From Catania:

  • Take the A19 motorway towards Siracusa. Exit at the Ragusa Ovest junction and follow the signs for the city. (1h. 30' approx.)
  • Panoramic alternative with sea views: SS115, continuing to Noto, Modica and Scicli before arriving in Ragusa. (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes)

From Palermo:

  • Take the A29 motorway towards Catania. At Caltanissetta, take the A19 motorway towards Ragusa. Exit at the Ragusa Ovest junction and follow the signs. (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes)
  • Alternative route: take the SS191 towards Gela. Continue to Vittoria and Scicli before arriving in Ragusa. (approximately 3 hours 30 minutes)

From Siracusa:

  • Take the A19 motorway towards Ragusa. Exit at the Ragusa Ovest junction and follow the signs. (approximately 1 hour)
  • Panoramic route: take the SS115 towards Ragusa. The street offers beautiful views of the sea. (1h. 30' approx.)

Arriving in Ragusa by ship is possible, but there are no direct connections with the main Italian ports. The best solution is to disembark in one of the following Sicilian ports and then continue by bus or train:

  • Port of Catania: It is about 100 km away. From Catania it is possible to reach Ragusa with direct buses of the AST company with frequent runs during the day. The duration of the journey is approximately 2 hours.
  • Port of Pozzallo: Located on the south-eastern coast of Sicily, about 40 km from Ragusa. From the port of Pozzallo it is possible to reach Ragusa with direct buses and frequent daily runs of the SAIS company. The duration of the journey is approximately 1 hour.
  • Port of Augusta: Located on the eastern coast of Sicily, about 80 km from Ragusa. From here it is possible to reach Ragusa with direct buses of the Etna company. The duration of the journey is approximately 2 hours.

In addition to bus connections, from Catania it is also possible to reach Ragusa by train. Ragusa railway station is located on the Palermo-Catania-Syracuse railway line. Trains are less frequent than buses, but the journey is more scenic. The duration of the train journey from Catania to Ragusa is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Ragusa is served by two airports, from both of which it is possible to reach the city by bus, taxi or rental car:

  • Comiso "Pio La Torre" Airport (CIY): it is the closest to Ragusa, only 15 km away. It is connected with direct flights from some Italian cities, such as Rome, Milan, Turin and Venice
  • Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA): it is the largest airport in Sicily and is about 100 km from Ragusa. It is connected with direct flights from many Italian and European cities.
