It is an event that involves important chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants, authoritative speakers in the field of tourism, masterclasses on Sicilian oil and wines.
It begins on Sunday 8 September at the Rotonda on the seafront of Marina di Ragusa with a talk that will see important speakers on stage, and also the signing with the mayors of the twelve Iblei municipalities of a pact for the promotion of the territory to establish the Ragusa Food Valley; followed by a contest reserved for emerging Sicilian chefs, whose winners will be decreed by an exceptional jury, demonstrating the great commitment that the association gives to young chefs and their training. This will be followed by an aperitif reserved for institutional representatives and guests, as well as all the companies that will support the Marina Gourmet event.
On Monday and Tuesday, 9 and 10 September respectively, cooking shows, master classes on oils and wines, exhibition counter positions in the Andrea Doria seafront space, moments of meeting and discussion which will culminate in two dinners are scheduled. The first, on Monday evening 9 September, includes among the chefs on the station, among others, Giuseppe Causarano, Joseph Micieli and Angelo Bonomo, who have restaurants between Marina di Ragusa and Punta Secca and the second, on Tuesday evening 10 September, with chefs Sicilian guests of the association, including Pino Cuttaia of La Madia in Licata, Tony Lo Coco of I Pupi in Bagheria, Vincenzo Candiano of Locanda Don Serafino in Ragusa Ibla.
During the three days, career and entrepreneurship awards will be given to those who have made a difference for Ragusa and its province in the food and wine sector. There will be no shortage of fun with a cabaret show scheduled for Tuesday 10 September.
