Palazzo Zacco is home to the City Museum, a space which tells the story of Ragusa in an engaging and interactive way, combining works of art, multimedia displays and educational spaces.
It features the following sections: Museum of the city - Museum of farming times - Carmelo Cappello civic archives - Leone gallery - Multimedia museum - History of the palace - Educational and play area.
Each of the rooms in the museum offers themed tours which you can follow with QR codes, learning more about all the hidden gems concealed in the narrow streets and palaces of our city!
Entry to the museum and use of the multimedia tools and QR codes is free. You can also follow a parallel tour which tells the story of the palace itself.
These are extracts from the book ‘Nonno Saro’, written by Laura Ciancio Zacco, one of the last heirs of the family which lived in Palazzo Zacco until the last century. The tour brings the building to life, evoking the sights, smells, flavours and stories of the past. Use the QR codes marked ‘Storia del Palazzo’ to follow this tour.
