St James the Apostle and the unmovable crucifix
St James the Apostle and the unmovable crucifix
A church dedicated to one of the most famous warrior saints, St James, whose name is also given to the confraternity which runs the church.
These two ideas, of the armed defence of the church by the warrior saints, and the concept of the “good death”, dominate the iconography portrayed on the pictures on the many altars.
Also worthy of note is the perspective painting on the ceiling from 1734 by Simone Ventura.
