Vallata Santa Domenica
This valley runs right through Ragusa.
Now a quiet and peaceful place, this valley was once a hive of activity such as growing fruit and vegetables and quarrying the pure white limestone.
Later, the old quarry was used to shelter animals, store goods and for works associated with stone quarrying, as evidenced by the remains of the lime kilns that can still be seen today.
It provides a pleasant place for a walk below the three bridges that span this canyon, from the Archaeological Museum to the San Paolo district of Ragusa Ibla.
